Phool makhana are called fox nuts in english. It is also known as lotus seeds. These seeds are extremely healthy, light and digestible. I have not been grew up eating this phool makhana. But during the blogging journey, I came to know that phool makhana can be eaten during the fast or vrat. Many people consume it during navratri vrat. During the fasting days, many times we eat many fried stuff like farali batata vada, sabudana vada, rajgira puri and so on. Apart from all these dishes, if you are looking for something healthy then try this roasted phool makhana namkeen. Other recipe on the blog made using makhana for vrat, fasting : phool makhane ki kheer Along with roasted makhana, I have added almonds, cashews, raisins, pistachios and coconut slices. These nuts add more nutrients to this snack. Feel free to skip or increase or decrease the amount of any nuts or dry fruits as per your choice. You can make this snack with only phool makhana too. During the navratri vrat, if you are fasting for all 9 days then make a big batch of it and keep in the airtight container. It will be really handy when you feel little hungry or keep munching whenever you feel like.
